Food Cache Inventory List
We have decided to create a food inventory list for or users to print out to aid them in cataloging a years worth of food. The sheets all use a goal of a 1 year supply. The inventory pack of printable forms can be downloaded and printed out below. Please check out our other long term food storage write ups as well.
When looking at your food storage inventory list remember a few things. Work with a goal. The goal total should be the number of pounds needed per person (for 12 months) multiplied by the number of people in your family. The recommended amounts on the sheets are 1 year minimums. Feel free to lower your number if need be. Just remember that these 1 year figures are rationed out, meaning that you would be eating small meals. Always strive for more if possible.
The columns on each page are self explanatory. Size and weight are the food weight as well as can size. As long are things are fairly uniform it is simple to count the total number of cans, bucket or pouches and multiply them to figure your weight totals. The On hand column shows what you presently have in your inventory. The Need column is filled with what you still need to meet your goal.
Store your sheets in sheet protectors. Use a dry erase marker to write your data directly on the sheet protector. This method works better than constantly erasing lead when your numbers change. I would also date your list. Keep the list close by your pantry (or storage location). Lastly remember out with the old and in with the new. Always rotate your stock. We hope you enjoy and find our list of use.
